- PTI senior leader and party chairman Imran Khan’s aide Shahbaz Gill has been taken into custody for inciting the public against the state institutions. According to the spokesperson, “Shahbaz Gill has been arrested for making statements against the state institutions and inciting the people to rebellion.” A case under treason laws has been registered against Gill in Kohsar police station on the complaint of the district administration. They said that the case has been registered under Sections 124-A (sedition), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), and of the Pakistan Penal Code. Gill has been accused of spreading chaos, inciting people against the state along with other serious allegations.

He was produced before the court today (10 Aug 2022) where the Islamabad Police sought his 14-day physical remand to recover the mobile phone and the device which he used to make statements.
After a brief hearing, the court reserved the verdict which was announced later giving Islamabad Police two-day remand of Shahbaz Gill.
All efforts failed, Shahbaz Gul refused to become a witness against Imran Khan despite all violence, pressure and threats. ( 12 Aug 2022)
