Rizwan Akhtar is 3 star Pakistan army general who served as Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI ) from 8 November 2014 to 8th Oct 2017, he announced his pre-mature retirement from service. Rizwan commanded an infantry brigade and infantry division in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas after served as Operation and Planning Officer at Peshawar Corps. Rizwan Akhtar had been assigned with the task to lead the Karachi operation. He also served as President of National Defense University .
